Daughters Birthday invite

So these are the cards I decided to make for my daughters birthday that is coming up. We rented the skating rink privately for a couple of hours...mostly so I can get on skates and not look like an idiot in front of random people...LOL. She wanted to do the skating thing this year so I thought this would be a cute card for the invites. I had my hubby draw the skate template and then I added the lace and the wheels(they move). I forgot to draw the lines on the wheel but this is only my first try at it. The cards will be all different colors, that way I can spice things up a bit. Thanks fro looking!

No stamps where used in this one.
The card is a 6x6, the skate is done with glossy white and the wheels where glazed in clear embossing powder.

Found cat...my daughter named Babe

So exactly a week from today a cat showed up on my door step crying. At first I thought it was stuck in the wheel well of my husbands truck but when I went outside to investigate it came running up to me like it belong in my house. Being that it was VERY cold and I love animals I picked her up and brought her inside my attached garage. I have cats of my own and didn't know if she was sick or had any problems and didn't want to risk bringing her in the house. So the garage is heated and I thought it would be an ideal place until I could find her owners. So she has been with us for a week now and let me tell you she is nuts. Now of course she wants in the house but I tried to introduce mine with her and they don't like each other. So that just can't happen. So I have fliers posted but no one has come to claim her. The more I get to know her I'm wondering if she was mistreated. She seem to duck or move quickly out of the way if you come down to pet her. All I do know is she was hungry and tired. Now she's rested and has a super full belly and she wants in. :) I hope I can get her a good home. I feel bad for her. My daughter loves her and reads her book out there with her everyday. She said "can't she just be our garage kitty" cute huh?We put a kitty tower out there and a fluffy bed so she would be comfortable. Well I think she's in heat so we are going to wait for 2 weeks and then if no one claims her my friend runs a animal shelter she is going to get her fixed and shotted and get her a home. Thought I would share my kitty story with you. I posted some pictures so you can see how cute she is.

Card box

I made this box to give to my Realtor who ordered cards from me. She has to have something to store them in...right?? She really loved it and the cards too.

Visiting my brother downtown...

On Saturday my brother called me up and wanted to know if I wanted to take him to IKEA so he could go shopping. He lives in the city and doesn't need a car but IKEA isn't close to any of us. Any who...I found someone to watch my daughter and we headed towards Chicago. I haven't been down there in awhile. So it was nice to go see all the pretty lights again. It would of been nicer if it wasn't 3 degrees. :) I can't wait to go in the spring or summer with the waves beating off the shore...ok way of the subject there.

So we drive to IKEA which was a 30 minute drive from the city, I've never been there so I'm excited to see what this place is all about. I know people love this store and I hear great things so I am stoked that I get to go scope it out myself. This place is HUGE!

So they have this like "path" that you follow through the building showing you all the stuff they have all displayed through this really long "tour" is what I'm gonna call it. It was really neat to see how they have their stuff set up. My only complaint is that the stuff seemed really small. I am 5'8" and I was taller then the fridge they had displayed and the couches when you sit on them you can't rest your head b/c the back doesn't go us high as your head. Cute stuff for small spaces. They have great coffee tables and end tables, kitchen tables and some funky stuff you might not normally buy. So my brother buys all new everything...new bed, tables, and so on. It was so funny trying to load all this stuff in my truck. He was super squeshed in the back. I didn't buy much only a new scale...like I want that. But I want to loose weight so I need something to tell me I am :) Well any how I took some pictures of the veiw from my brothers condo. I would love to have a veiw like him but I'm just a suburb kinda gal. Hope you enjoy!

Valentine's mail box

This is a little mail box that i decided to decorate for my daughter. I don't know what I'll put in it yet but I just love the way it turned out. It's simple and elegant. I think she is going to love it.
I got the mail box from someone in a swap. I know they got it from Target's Dollar spot so I'm going to have to go there and see if they have more, then I will make some for my nieces and nephews. Thanks for looking! :)

So yesterday we did a family hair cut day and we went to my SIL so she could cut it. :) It's been awhile so we all needed it badly. I have posted some pictures for you to see. And the pile of hair at the end. Sorry it's alittle blurry...I hate when that happens. :)

To have & to Hold...

Here is a wedding card I did for a friend of mine to give at her friends wedding. I got the idea from someone on SCS. And then of course made it my own. I used Merri/foil cardstock I got from someone on e-bay. It's like mirrored cardstock it so cool. Hard to get a picture of :)

Sketch Challenge...

This is a card I did for a sketch challenge on SCS. The set is from a "New" hostess set from SU. I got it a couple of days ago and wanted to try it out. It's called Echoes of Kindness. I love this set. Wasn't sure about it at first but i have discovered that I do like it...alot

Ice storm part 1...

So I wanted to post these pictures awhile ago...when I took them on Dec. 19th. Yeah, with Christmas and stuff I never got a chance. So here they are. This is the ice storm we had on Dec. 18th it was crazy...rain, ice, snow, rain, then ice again...it was like out of a movie. Makes me wonder why I live here. I really want to live somewhere warm!! Back to Vegas I'm thinking :) Any who I hope you enjoy...

This is how thick the ice was on the tree.

This was me standing inside my Willow tree.
Not an easy task to get across the yard which was ice.
