Indoor Pond

So we decided to put in a pond in our basement. Well not really a basement we have a bi-level so it's still very much part of the house. Anyways...I have a pond in the back yard but since I live in the chica-land area I can't enjoy it all year round so what a better way to enjoy the soothing sound of water then in your house. So here it is. Not totally finished yet and still missing a lot of the fish but we want to add them slowly. I've been putting in 2 or 3 a day. We have a new kitten and she just loves it. My other cats won't go anywhere near that water. They run if you bring them by it. But the little one sits there and just tracks the fish. It's so cute.

Here it is. It measures 4 x 4 and is 2 feet deep.

Looking in the water.

Our kitty just tracking those fish.

Another top view. I love that I get to keep my lily pads all year.

Mega Swap

Ok I am doing a mega swap and it is 62 card fronts. I am also doing 30 6 x 6 scrapbook pages for the same swap. I haven't even gotten that far b/c I have been working on these cards for almost 2 weeks now. I glued individual small prima flowers on every one of them and then added a dew drop on top. There are about 7 flowers on each card. A lot of work to say the least. Please let me know what you think. I hope I did a good enough job. Thanks for looking!! There are a couple of pictures.

This is the finished card.

A flat view.

A view of the flowers.

Veggies in my garden

Ok so I thought I would do a garden this year so I had my hubby build a box where it would get alot of sun. I got these giant summer squash. The little one in the picture is a normal size squash and the giant one is the ones I've been picking out of my garden. I can't even believe how big they are. And delicious too.

Sand around the pond...

The pond with no grass, just fabric cloth

A closer look with no grass.

All the sand is in and we are playing in it!

The top part of our pond and all the lily pads.

A day out picking blueberries

So we went out to Michigan City, IN last weekend and decided to go blueberry picking. It's about an hour ride. But it was alot of fun. We spent about two hours just picking blueberries. Actually it was very relaxing. My daughter was invited to go to the beach with her friend so she was alittle upset I was dragging her out there but when we got there she had a blast. Then we went to the beach and hung out for about an hour. Of course not long enough for her. So here sre some of the pictures. Enjoy!!

Hello

I know I haven't posted anything lately. We have had a lot of crazy things going on around here. I live in the Chicago land area and we had some monstrous storms on Monday the 4th of August. Our home was hit by lightning about 2:30 in the morning. Fire Dept. police and all kinds of excitement. It was fun...not really. No damage to the house but we did loose 2 TVs, DVD recorder, and a stereo. We have a lot of hail damage to the roof. But everyone is fine and there are no injuries. Our baby kitten had temporary hearing loose b/c of the very loud boom that comes with it. Well I hope everyone has a good weekend!! Take care, Jessica
